Nancy Powell Hedrick, 68, of Roanoke Rapids, NC went to be with the Lord after a year-long illness on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at the Medical College of Virginia.

Nancy was a native of Danville, VA, the daughter of the late Claude Powell and Semmie Craft Powell. She was retired from Dan River Mills and was a member of First Christian Church in Roanoke Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Scott Hedrick, and her cousins, William Wrenn and Barbara Evans.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Tracey Hedrick, of Roanoke Rapids; and four cousins, Marion Black of Clovis, New Mexico, Roby Craft of Satellite Beach, FL, Elizabeth Owen of Blairs, VA and Margaret Mangaretti of Summerville, NJ.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services, 731 Roanoke Ave., Roanoke Rapids, NC is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Friday, January 8, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at First Christian Church in Roanoke Rapids with Minister Bane Angles officiating. Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 11, at 1:00 p.m. at Highland Burial Park in Danville, VA.
